The PARIS model of Civic Media

If participating in the creation and dissemination of media is part of our civic expression, consider this list of guiding questions from Friesem, Y. before diving into your design process:

How Do You Share the Control Over the Format, Content and Distribution?

How Do You Include and Invite Others to Produce and Use the Media?

How Do You Keep Yourself Accountable?

What is Your Intended and Unintended Change?

What Measures Do You Take to Keep the Project Relevant without Your Involvement?

Participatory

Accessible

Reflective

Impactful

Sustainable

What do I have to say about this PARIS model that we will be exploring over the next ten weeks (or so…)? I have a few very specific applications in mind for something like this, but ultimately I am hesitant to plan too much of a project without having secured funds to pay participants for their time and thought leadership. A project like this requires funding before embarking on interviews and information gathering, especially if the end result is a piece of media… medium yet to be determined.

How am I supposed to plan for a people-driven process??
